Glen Industries is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. Our constitution provides for up to ten (10) Directors at any one point in time, with 50% of the Directors vacating their position on a two year rotation. Directors are able to re-nominate at the end of each cycle. We currently have seven (7) Directors. Nominations for the Board of Directors are open at any time whilst ever their is vacancy in our constitutional capacity and applications are considered on the basis of maintaining a diverse skill set. Alternatively, the vacating positions are advertised leading into the Annual General Meeting, which is held in September of each year. Bill Munro Chairperson With over 30 years on the Board of Directors, many of which acting as Company Secretary, Bill is the longest serving member of the Board. Bill is an active and highly respected member of the Glen Innes Community, volunteering his time in support of many community groups, committees and initiatives. In addition, Bill is a Pharmacist and owns a local pharmacy, affording him great insight and compassion for the diversity within the Community.
Carri Wood Minute Secretary
Carri Wood, joined the Board of Directors in December 2013. Carri has a strong background in Case Management, Employment Services and Community Participation.
Carri's expertise are a valuable support for our Board and operational strategies.
Guy Schafer Treasurer Proprietor of the local Newsagency, Guy joined the Board of Glen Industries in February 2013. With qualifications in accountancy and a business background, Guy is able to offer an analytical perspective in the development of business strategies. He is actively involved within the broader community.
Morris Company Secretary Mark Morris, joining the Board of Directors in 2021, and assuming the role of company secretary in 2022, Mark is a highly respected retired primary school teacher. He brings great depth to his role on the Board, with a keen grasp on compliance and extensive experience developing and implementing inclusive systems, models and processes for knowledge and skill development. He has fulfilled key roles with local community sporting associations and is enjoying the pleasures of his leisure interests.
Paul Withers Director Paul Withers, joined the Board of Directors in October 2010, assuming the role of Treasurer. He brings almost 20 years experience working for a major financial institution, as well as operating his own private retail business and subsequently providing office management and book-keeping services for prominent local businesses.
Patsie Newsome Director Patsie Newsome, joined the Board of Directors in August 2018. Patsie brings an extensive background working in the Government sector along with over 20 years on the Glen Innes Community Centre Management Committee. She has lived experience with disability and a strong passion for inclusion.
Jason De Jong Director Jason De-Jong, joining the Board of Directors in 2022, Jason brings dedication to community with over 10 years services with the RFS. An entrepreneurial businessman in the energy sector, Jason has a flare for all things technological encompassing IT consulting, software engineering, product design, business processes and implementation. He has a keen focus on renewable, sustainable business practices and is ambitious for change.
